You can consider ductless cooling while keeping radiators that still serve your home. Indoor units stay in place year-round and connect to an outdoor unit, so there are no window air conditioners to move in and out each season.
Our Trinity Ave project in Rotterdam is one example. We installed a five-zone Senville system, mainly for cooling, while the home retained its natural-gas radiators.

Ductless cooling alongside existing radiators
This Cape/bungalow dated from the late 1930s to mid-1940s and had blown-in insulation added over time. The retired homeowners used natural-gas radiators for heat and window air conditioners for cooling. They initially budgeted for 3 indoor units.
The project qualified for a $10,000 NYS Clean Heat rebate under the applicable Disadvantaged Community tier. That helped the homeowners choose a 5-zone Senville system, mainly for cooling, with supplemental heat alongside the radiators. The installation took about 3 days, including the electrical run.
The homeowners wanted to understand how the lines would look. We ran most through the walls and basement to the condenser, and used line guards on the remaining two runs.
