Mini-Split & Heat Pump Installation in Schenectady, NY
Schenectady’s housing stock was built for a different century — GE-era two-families, Capes and bungalows from the ’30s and ’40s, radiator heat, and a window AC dripping in every bedroom by July. Ductless mini-splits fix all of it at once: real cooling, supplemental heat, no ductwork. We install across Schenectady, Rotterdam, and Niskayuna — with the NYS Clean Heat rebate confirmed before we start.

From window ACs to whole-house comfort
The typical Schenectady call starts the same way: the radiators still work, but the window ACs are loud, blocking the light, and barely keeping up. Ductless heads mount on the wall, run quiet, dehumidify properly, and come down to one outdoor unit — no more lifting ACs into windows every June.
And the rebate math surprises people. NYS Clean Heat rebates are set amounts you qualify for, and parts of the Schenectady area count as Disadvantaged Community territory, which raises the tier. On a recent Rotterdam job, that turned a three-room plan into every room in the house.
A Senville condenser installed in the Capital Region — the same brand we installed on Trinity Ave in Rotterdam.
What we handle
- Window-AC retirement — wall-mounted heads, quiet, no more seasonal lifting
- Radiator homes — keep the gas heat, add cooling plus supplemental heat in one system
- Clean installs on older houses — lines run through basements and walls, line guards on the rest
- Rebate qualification — including DAC-boosted amounts, confirmed before work starts

A real Astello install
Trinity Ave, Rotterdam: three rooms planned, five rooms delivered
Window ACs out, whole-house Senville in
A retired couple on Trinity Ave in Rotterdam — a classic Cape/bungalow from the late 1930s–mid 1940s, blown-in insulation added over the years, natural-gas radiators for heat and window ACs doing the cooling. They'd budgeted for 3 indoor units.
Then we ran their rebate numbers: $10,000 — the amount they qualified for, boosted because their area counts as a Disadvantaged Community under NYS Clean Heat. That covered the jump to a 5-zone Senville system — one head in every room — mostly for cooling, with supplemental heat behind the radiators. The whole job, electrical run included, took about 3 days.
They worried about the look — five heads, one condenser, a lot of lines. Most lines ran inside the walls through the basement to the condenser; the last two got line guards. Came out very well. Good deal for our clients.
What we check before we quote

Quieter, far more efficient, no open windows, real dehumidification — and the same system adds heat. The Trinity Ave couple retired five window units in one 3-day install.
Yes — that’s the standard Schenectady setup. Gas radiators stay as primary heat; the mini-splits carry the cooling and back the heating up in shoulder seasons.
Fewer wires than you fear. On Trinity Ave we ran most lines inside the walls through the basement and covered the last two runs with line guards.
NYS Clean Heat rebates are set amounts you qualify for — and parts of the Schenectady area carry boosted Disadvantaged Community tiers. Trinity Ave qualified for $10,000. We confirm your amount before you commit.
Senville is our most cost-effective best seller and a durable cold-climate performer; Mitsubishi and Cooper & Hunter round out the lineup. We size first, then match the brand to the budget.
Trinity Ave — 5 zones plus the electrical run — took about 3 days. Smaller jobs are often 1–2.
