Astello installs cold-climate heat pumps across the Albany–Schenectady–Troy area. A cold-climate heat pump provides heating and cooling using electricity. It can be part of a plan to replace oil or propane heat, or work alongside a system you already have. We review your home’s heating needs, choose equipment for the project, and include permits and inspections in the installation.

Real Astello installs
An East Greenbush family wanted to replace the oil heat in its roughly 1,400-square-foot home. We used a Manual J load calculation to account for the older home's limited insulation, then installed a Senville cold-climate system.
We decommissioned the oil system, and the project qualified for a $12,000 NYS Clean Heat rebate. When we visited a year later, the family reported lower bills than with oil and was using air conditioning it hadn't had before.
The New York State Canal Corporation operates the 524-mile canal system under the New York Power Authority. Astello installed cold-climate heat pumps in eleven lock stations along the Champlain Canal, from Waterford to Whitehall.

A heat pump’s heating capacity changes with outdoor temperature. We use a load calculation and the equipment’s cold-weather ratings to plan a system for your home.
An air-source heat pump transfers heat using electricity. On our East Greenbush project, we replaced the oil system with ductless heating and cooling. We can look at your home and discuss whether a similar change makes sense for you.

You receive a written quote setting out the equipment and installation work. We’ll talk through it with you before you decide.

Senville Pro ContractorYes, cold-climate heat pumps are designed for low outdoor temperatures. We install Mitsubishi, Senville, and Cooper & Hunter models and review your home’s heating load before recommending the equipment. The same system can provide summer cooling.
The number of zones, equipment, electrical work, and line routes all affect the price. We’ll look at your home during a free estimate and prepare a written quote. NYS Clean Heat rebates are available through Astello for eligible projects.

The ductless systems we install don’t need air ducts. That makes them an option for homes with radiators, additions, finished attics, and other spaces where adding ducts would be difficult.
We install Mitsubishi, Senville, and Cooper & Hunter. The best fit for your project depends on the heating load, indoor-unit layout, equipment features, and budget. We’ll discuss those choices at your estimate.
A cold-climate heat pump can serve as a home’s primary heating system when the equipment and design meet the heating load. On our East Greenbush project, we replaced and decommissioned the oil system. We’ll assess your house before recommending whether to replace or retain your existing heat.
