Heat Pump & Mini-Split Installation in Albany, NY
Albany runs the full spread — 1920s Colonials off New Scotland, post-war ranches in Colonie, split-levels toward Loudonville and the Delmar line. What most of them share: no ductwork upstairs, summers that cook the second floor, and heating bills that don’t make sense anymore. We install cold-climate heat pumps and ductless mini-splits across Albany County — sized to the actual house, with the NYS Clean Heat paperwork handled.

Sized for the house, not the invoice
The most common mistake we correct in Albany isn’t equipment — it’s sizing shortcuts. One head in a hallway doesn’t condition three bedrooms; the moment the doors close, the conditioned air stays in the hallway. A slightly cheaper system that doesn’t do the job isn’t a deal, it’s a callback.
We don’t sell installs, we sell solutions — if a layout won’t work, we won’t suggest it. Every quote starts with the real heat load: the house’s age, insulation, sun, and how the rooms actually get used. Then we pick from Mitsubishi (Hyper-Heat), Senville, and Cooper & Hunter to fit the budget.
A Mitsubishi indoor wall unit — the same series we installed on Bancker St in Albany.
What we handle
- Second floors that bake — one head per bedroom, so closed doors don't matter
- Adding zones to an existing mini-split setup — new condenser alongside the old, no rip-out
- Fuel-switching from oil or propane — cold-climate systems that heat below zero
- NYS Clean Heat rebates — we confirm the amount you qualify for before work starts

Bancker St, Albany: the hallway shortcut that didn't happen
One head per bedroom, not one in the hallway
A family bought a 1,344-square-foot, 3-bedroom Colonial on Bancker St — built in 1920, downstairs already cooled by an existing mini-split, upstairs brutal in summer. Their plan was one AC head in the upstairs hallway. We walked them through why that fails: three bedrooms, kids, doors that close — the hallway stays cool and the rooms don't.
We installed a Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat system with 3 zones — one head per bedroom — with a new outdoor unit set cleanly next to the existing one. A sleek install, and it pulled the humidity out of the upstairs. The new homeowners got the house they thought they were buying.
What we check before we quote

Senville Pro ContractorQuestions, answered
Usually not, if there are bedrooms behind closed doors. The air stops at the door — that’s why we quoted a recent Bancker St Colonial at one head per bedroom instead of one in the hallway. We’ll tell you honestly which rooms need their own zone.
Yes — that’s exactly what the Bancker St job was. A second outdoor unit can sit right next to the first, and the systems run independently.
It depends on zones and equipment — you get a free in-home estimate with a written fixed price. Albany-area homeowners often qualify for substantial NYS Clean Heat rebates, and we confirm your amount up front.
Mitsubishi (Hyper-Heat), Senville — our most cost-effective best seller and a durable cold-climate performer — and Cooper & Hunter. Sized to the house, not the price tag.
The cold-climate systems we install keep heating well below zero. Many customers run them as primary heat; others pair them with existing systems.
Most Albany homes: 1–3 days including any electrical work.
