Two zones for a Castleton-on-Hudson raised ranch
The family in this well-insulated raised ranch on Benedict St wanted air conditioning. Existing heat included electric baseboard, gas, and two gas stoves. With one bedroom downstairs and the home's layout taken into account, we installed a dual-zone Senville Aura cold-climate system: one indoor unit per floor, connected to one outdoor condenser.
Permits were arranged before the work, and the installation took one day, including electrical work. The family kept its existing heating alongside the new mini-splits.
A four-zone system for a 2024 Nassau home
This 1,100-square-foot, three-bedroom Nassau home was built in 2024. The owners chose an all-electric setup with a four-zone cold-climate heat pump. The project cost $14,000 and qualified for a $4,500 rebate.
The heat pump provided heating and cooling from the home's first winter, without an oil tank or gas connection.

Yes, that may be an option. At Benedict St in Castleton-on-Hudson, the gas and electric baseboard heat stayed, and we added a dual-zone Senville system for cooling. The heat pump also provides a heating option.

It depends on what the existing system can do and which rooms need attention. Ductless can be an option for spaces the ducts don’t serve well. We’ll look at the house before recommending a separate system.
