Troy houses are old — brick row houses downtown, 1890s single-families in Lansingburgh, two-families in South Troy — and almost none of them have ductwork. Cold-climate heat pumps heat them anyway: no ducts needed, heating that keeps up through Capital Region winters, and air conditioning in the same unit for July. We handle the NYS Clean Heat rebate paperwork so you get every dollar you qualify for.

Rebate paperwork handled for you
Most of Troy was built before ductwork was a thing. That rules out regular central HVAC without tearing the house apart — and it’s why ductless heat pumps have become the default answer here. Line sets run through masonry and old framing without gutting walls; indoor heads go where the heat is actually needed.
If your baseboards or radiators are at the end of their life, replacing them costs real money. A ductless heat pump system replaces the whole setup — and decommissioning the old fossil-fuel system can raise your NYS Clean Heat rebate to a higher tier. Same heads cool the house in summer: one install, both seasons.

A real Astello install
An 1890s single-family on 3rd Ave in historic Lansingburgh — 1,260 square feet, no insulation to speak of, and a hot-water radiator/baseboard system that cost too much to run. The baseboards were so old that replacing them alone would have been a major bill, so the homeowners went ductless instead.
We ran a Manual J load calculation first — with a house that age, sizing off a guess doesn't cut it. Then we installed a Senville Aura cold-climate system with 5 indoor units and decommissioned the old heating system. That decommissioning pushed them to $10,000 in NYS Clean Heat rebates — the full amount they qualified for. The install took about 3 days, in December, in real freezing weather. The homeowners called it the best solution on the market — and they got whole-house AC for summer in the same package.
Old Troy houses punish guesswork. Every install starts with the numbers — and ends with the rebate paperwork filed for you.

Senville Pro ContractorYes. We install cold-climate systems rated to keep heating well below zero. The 3rd Ave Lansingburgh install went in during freezing December weather and heated the house that same week.
That’s most of Troy, and it’s exactly what ductless systems are for. Indoor heads mount on walls, line sets run outside or through chases — no ductwork ever gets built.
It depends on zones and equipment, so we don’t quote blind — you get a free in-home estimate with a written fixed price. Troy homeowners often qualify for substantial NYS Clean Heat rebates; the Lansingburgh job above qualified for $10,000.
Not always — but decommissioning the old fossil-fuel system can move you to a higher rebate tier, and if your baseboards are dying anyway, it usually makes financial sense. We’ll show you both numbers.
Most Troy homes take 1–3 days. The 5-zone Lansingburgh house took about 3 days, mid-December.
