Our Story

Local, family-run, and built on trust

Astello is a local, family-run company out of Troy, and we do one thing: ductless mini-split heat pumps. We install them, repair them, and maintain them across the Albany–Schenectady–Troy area — and the people who quote your job are the same people who install it and stand behind it.

Most of our work is the Capital Region’s older housing — radiator homes, 1890s two-stories, houses that never had ductwork and never will. That’s where ductless earns its keep: real heat below zero, real AC in July, independent control in every room, and no walls torn open.

We’re a NYS Clean Heat Participating Contractor, EPA-certified, and fully insured — and we handle rebate paperwork start to finish, so the number you see is the number after New York’s money comes off.

What we’ve actually done

Lock buildings for the NYS Canal Corporation

New York State brought us in to heat eleven lock buildings along the Champlain Canal, Waterford to Whitehall, with cold-climate heat pumps. Out there, the heat pumps are the heat.

Whole-house install, donated

For a Saratoga Springs family the whole community leans on, Astello donated the labor and Cooper & Hunter donated the equipment — four zones, one condenser, the whole house.

Google reviews, 5.0 average

Every review is from a real installed job in the Capital Region — no incentives, no filters. We ask every customer, and this is what they say.

Why ductless only

One trade, done properly

We don’t sell furnaces, we don’t run ductwork, and we don’t take “whatever comes in.” Ductless heat pumps are the whole business — which means the person sizing your system has done it hundreds of times in houses just like yours, and the crew installing it isn’t switching trades between jobs.

It’s also the honest answer for this region’s housing. In a finished home, a professionally installed ducted system means opening walls — and the money goes well past a ductless install, with less efficiency and no room-by-room control. Cold-climate mini-splits heat below zero, cool all summer, and go in without demolition. That’s why we picked this trade, and why we stayed in it. See what installation really costs →

Jobs we’re proud of

Ballston Spa

Oil out, eight zones in

A 1950 two-story heated with oil, no AC at all. Eight zones on two condensers now heat and cool the whole house — and the oil burner, the old system, and the huge tank all left the basement for good.

Albany

The layout another company got wrong

A 1920 Colonial where the other quote put the equipment in a hallway shortcut. We corrected the layout and installed three zones of Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat where they actually belong. We don’t sell installs — we sell solutions.

Troy · Lansingburgh

Five zones in three December days

An 1890 house with radiators and no ductwork. Five zones went in over three days of freezing December weather — and the house was heating with them that same week, with a $10,000 NYS rebate qualified.
